CCF settlement
The deadline for https://www.ccfsettlement.com/ is today. I think they are legit. In the best case, I could make ~$400 (seems unlikely, since my total ATM fees didn't exceed $150 likely, since I converted a ton of dollars into Euros).

Update:

I am choosing Option 3, and I'm remembering the numbers, roughly (my electronic statements don't go more than 2 years back). Apparently, they will get the exact numbers from the bank. So I have to wonder why they ask me to give the estimate in the first place.

I'm afraid that if I claim too much on any given year, they could choose to refuse my claim.

It's perfectly fine, I filled this out twice about a month ago, for two credit cards, and I expect a few hundred back.

yep, I had to request 5 years of statements from the 2 co's and went through all of them and got the figures... took a few hours so I'm hoping for a few hundo's

well, my time was running out, so I gave them rounded numbers. Let's wait and see what happens.

ATM fees, or currency conversion fees? It appears that the maximum you can recover is 1% of the amount of currency you converted, that being the approximate amount of the fee, or $25 at minimum.

My reading was $25, or 1% of some estimate, or, if you have receipts for everything, 3%.

Your bank account number is on every check you write. This shouldn't be considered confidential information.

Well fuck, we chose option 2 because we don't have records far enough back either; I didn't realize that estimating was an option.

Since we've lived overseas the entire time period covered, I'm hoping they're generous. It's weird that they don't actually tell you how they'll calculate it.

My understanding of the difference between option2 and option3 was that option3 was year-by-year, whereas option2 was the total estimate.

The actual calculation is complicated, since they don't yet know all attorney costs, appeals, etc. If there are appeals, it might take a few years for them to pay you. (I don't know who can and can't appeal)

Hmm. I'm confused about the options then; I thought there was one where you just said how many days you were out of the country, and they estimated based on that.

Justin did the paperwork while I was napping today, so I don't know the details.

oh, that too. That's option2 you described.
